Connecting to Our Sewer System

The District charges a connection fee (also referred to frequently as a tap-on fee) to connect any structure to the sanitary sewer system. This is a one-time fee that is assessed to every home, apartment, mobile home and building that is being provided sewer service. Multi-tenant buildings are also assessed a connection fee for each tenant. The current connection fee (tap-on fee) for residential customers is $1,500 for In-District residential customers and $2,500 for Out-Of-District residential customers.

For Non-Residential customers the connection fee for In-District customers shall be calculated at a rate of $500 per 1,000 gallons of water used based upon the average water used per month. The minimum connection fee is $2,500. For Out-of-District customers the connection fee is calculated at a rate of $750 per 1,000 gallons of water used based upon the average water used per month. The minimum connection fee for Out-of-District non-residential customers is $3,500.

Connection fees for the privilege of connecting to the District’s sewer system shall be paid prior to the connection being made.

What is the Lateral Inspection Fee?

A $50 inspection fee is charged in addition to the connection fee to offset the cost of inspecting the proper installation and connection to the District’s sewer main. If a connection fails its inspection, a second inspection and inspection fee will be charged by the District. This is to be paid prior to the second inspection. If a connection continues to fail the inspection, additional inspections and inspection fees will be charged until the lateral line connection is approved.

Where and When are Fees Paid?

Connection fees and inspection fees are to be paid at the District Office at 850 Sulphur Springs Road either in person or by mail. These fees may be paid in cash, check or credit card.

It is strongly recommended that for payment in person an appointment be made with the District.
